Shifu Simplicity is the abbess of the monastery. She is a German nun (Bhiksuni).
Ayya Vimalanyani is also a German nun (Bhikkhuni) but in the Theravada tradition. After spending several years in Sri Lanka, she returned to Germany in 2021. She is particularly interested in early Buddhist sutras and the way of life of nuns during the Buddha’s lifetime. For her research, she translates texts from Chinese Buddhism. She also illustrates Buddhist books and draws Dharma Doodles.
Together, the nuns look after the convent and organize the events.
