The offer at the Wassermond monastery

Sitting Meditation

In the peaceful atmosphere of the meditation hall, sitting meditation is practiced on a cushion or alternatively on a chair. For beginners, Shifu teaches breath counting, or awareness of breathing. This simple method can very effectively help to calm our mind. For more advanced practitioners other methods are also taught.

The sitting meditation is followed by a slow walking meditation in the Chan Hall.

Meditation Courses

The regular courses consist of silent sitting meditation followed by a lecture on Buddhist teachings in German. Thus participants gradually acquire a solid understanding of the Buddhist teachings. This is an important supplement to meditation practice, and helps practitioners to understand different approaches to improving quality of life.

Sutra Studies

For practitioners who already have an understanding of the basic teachings of Buddhism, Shifu lectures on sutras and other original texts of ancient masters.

Outdoor Walking Meditation

Outdoor walking meditation is a pleasant and relaxing way to practice mindfulness. It is not just a walk in nature but a meditation. We walk slowly, cultivating awareness of each breath and each steps.

Life Coaching

In one-on-one talks with Shifu, you can gain new insights into your life situation. Shifu helps you to look at your situation from a Buddhist perspective, thus finding new ways to solve problems.

Monkchat

In a monk chat we have tea together in an informal setting and ask Shifu questions about Buddhism or meditation. Participants can also share their insights.

Chinese Chanting

In Asia chanting Buddhist sutras or other texts together a very popular practice. The Centre offers chanting in Chinese. Everyone is welcome to join and enjoy the peaceful sounds of the chants.
